Regular meetings of the Blue Knights take place at West Terre Haute Police Department in the Town Hall Meeting room. West Terre Haute Police is located at 500 West National, West Terre Haute, IN.

Regular business meeting for the Blue Knights are Monthly on the Third Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm

I have been in contact with the family and this is what the family would like from us:

On November 11th we are not required to be in the parade. They would like to see a flag line at the VFW Post at 11th & Eagle after a short ceremony . We will then escort Sgt Griffin to Terre Haute South High School from the VFW Post for the funeral services. At Terre Haute South High School we will have a flag line before the funeral services. Half of the Guard will stay at the High School for escort to Highlawn and half will go to Highlawn for a flag line. Staging at the VFW Post will be at 10am (1000) on November 11th. Flag Line for the funeral services at Terre Haute High School will be at 1pm (1300)

Jim Awbrey Benefit Ride

This was the 1st Annual Jim Awbrey Benefit Ride. Jim Awbrey is a Law Enforcement Officer injured on the job when rear ended while escorting. Jim was given only a 10% chance of ever walking again. Our prayers and support are with him and his Family. God Bless!!!!

They were hoping for at least 20 to 25 bikes....the Blue Knights Indiana Chapter X brought 15 bikes themselves.....there were at last count 94 bikes....Outstanding Start. It was a great bike ride, great food, and great cause !!!!

Jake Cooper and myself along with a co worker from the Penitentiary went to the Dragon's Tail last weekend.
We left on Saturday, Aug. 31st and traveled to Alcoa Tenn. Along the way, my stater went bad and we had a 3 1/2 hour lay over at the Bluegrass Harley Davidson in Louisville Kentucky while it was being repaired. By the way, they treated us great at Bluegrass, highly recommend them. We arrived at our Motel about 10:00 that evening, took our time.
On Aug. 31st, we left the Motel and did the Dragon's Tail run, then part of the Cherohala Parkway, then rode the Smokey Mountains National Park(really nice), then to Cherokee, where we did the Harrah's Casino for a couple of hours, and from there we went to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge. During this ride we crested the Smokey's at 5,280 ft, which is cool, and then back to the Motel, getting back around 1:30 in the morning. We traveled back on Monday, Sept. 1st. It was a great experience and recommend it for any motorcycle enthusiast.

\Tail of the Dragon 2009 September 11th Vp. Clay White, Treasurer Mike Coyl and Kim Richardson and her friend Brandon Bush left at 0800 for the Tail of the Dragon. WQE rode straight threw stopping for fuel and to meet up with a bunch of friends on the way. We arrived and checked into the cabin. Let the party begin. We all got up bright and early, riding till well after dark. We did the tail twice. we saw the after math of two crashes while we were on the tail. We partied that night also. We loaded up that morning and headed for home. We had a great time. All made it back in one piece with no mechanical failures. Im sure Mike and Clay will add to this. Mike has the good pics these are a few I took with my phone. WE are wanting this to be a yearly ride for all that are interested. A thanks goes out to Clay for making the arrangements and such good accomidations.

Bosleydog has been appointed our new Ride Director. Congrats Bosleydog.

Business meetings have been changed to the thirdTuesday of the month starting in October. We have done this to try to get more members to the meetings.

Welcome!

We are the ones that the bad guys hate to see.

We also love to ride motorcycles, and are motorcycle enthusiasts who happen to protect the masses. Our Chapter is small and gaining ground. Limited participation previously by members will increase as we continue to plan and execute dinner rides, Sunday morning breakfasts rides, themed rides such as the Dragon Tail run to SR129 in North Carolina, the Superman ride to Metropolis, IL, a ride known provocatively as the Lick Trip, a trip to the National Conference in 2008 and 2009, and our regional rides throughout the area. We are also planning our BLUE KNIGHTS GREAT LAKES ride to get our pins.

It doesn't matter if you have an american built "hawg", a metric cruiser from a far away land, a bike made by a former snowmobile manufacturer or something that defies definition ... We welcome all active and retired law enforcement personnel to join in The Blue Knights. Having a bike is not a requisite, wanting to share time together and enjoying our hobby is. Come on out and play with the Big Boys.

The National puts it best, "There are no strangers only friends to meet!"

Blue Knights Group Rides

Jeff "Mayo" Maynard, Jake Cooper and Mike Coyle and Tracy Coyle went to Bloomington, Indiana on June 6th, 2009 to ride the Annual Blue Knights Thin Blue Line Ride sponsored by Blue Knights Indiana Chapter XI. This year this ride was dedicated to a fallen Indiana State Trooper who was also a member of Chapter XI. It is my understanding that Officer Justin C. Mullis was doing a funeral escort on his dept. motorcycle when he was killed in an accident. I met Officer Mullis' wife, daughter and sons and they were very gracious during this trying time and were wonderful hosts for this event. It really touched me and reminded me that we are in a very difficult and trying profession. One that demands alot from us personally and professionally. To be part of an event that is taking care of one of its own was very heart warming and reminded me that we are all Family. It was a wonderful time and a great cause.

At last count but unofficial...there were 137 bikes. We had 4 Indiana State Hwy Patrol officers escorting us the whole way on their bikes and they did an outstanding job.

In the 3rd picture is officer Mullis' wife and daughter Amy. They are standing by Justin Mullis' motorcycle he called "Purple Rain" which he sold just a month prior to his death. The owner lives in Vincennes and drove up here to be part of this charity ride.

Also......ask Jake why his new nickname is "Skid" :-)
